A Minimum Five Week Activity

*Suggested time period for completion. The teacher may adjust the number of weeks to suit their class needs. Can be used with Fact Triangles.

This kit of Addition/Subtraction Tables is intended to accomplish the following:

Help students quickly memorize addition and subtraction by systematically reducing the number of factors they're presented with.

Help students understand the Commutative Property of the tables.

Weekly Distribution and Collection of the Five Tables

Starting with the Full Table, give one sheet to each student.

Students can use that table to study, to help complete homework, in class, and even on tests.

After one week of use, the Full Table is collected and one sheet of Partial Table 1 is distributed to each student.

The process of replacing the previous weeks table with the next table in the kit is continued at the start of each week until the five week course is completed.

Show students how to use the tables, pointing out that the most difficult factors for each table are printed IN ORANGE. Those factors printed in orange are to be mastered while the student has the table for one week. The factors in orange will VANISH on the NEXT table students will be given.

(Note that we use the (+) for addition and the (-) symbol for subtraction)

Teach students addition and subtraction by quickly simplifying the number of factors they're presented with.

Help students understand the Commutative Property of the tables.
